Reviewing website code during an audit

What to Expect From a Free Website & SEO Audit

Taylor Kelly Dec 18, 2025

A free website and SEO audit is a review of how your current site performs and how well it is set up to bring in local customers. It is meant to give you a clear picture and a prioritized list, whether or not you decide to work with the company that runs it. Here is what the process looks like with Triangle Web Design.

What We Look At

Performance. We test your load time and Core Web Vitals on both mobile and desktop, using real field data where it is available. Slow pages cost you rankings and calls, so this is usually where the quickest wins are.

Mobile experience. We check how your site reads and works on a phone: tap targets, readable text, a visible and tappable phone number, and forms that are easy to complete.

Local SEO setup. We review your Google Business Profile for categories, services, service area, hours, photos, and review activity. We check that your name, address, and phone number match across your site and the major directories.

On-page SEO. We look at title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, internal linking, and whether you have dedicated service and location pages that match how people search.

Structured data. We check for LocalBusiness, FAQ, and Review schema, which help you qualify for rich results and give AI search tools clear facts to work from.

Technical health. We review your sitemap, robots file, canonical tags, HTTPS, and whether anything is accidentally blocking pages from search engines.

Content gaps. We note the searches your competitors show up for that you do not, and the pages that would close that gap.

How Long It Takes

The review itself takes us a few business days. Walking you through it takes about 20 to 30 minutes, by phone or video, whenever works for you.

What You Walk Away With

  • A written summary of what is working and what needs attention
  • A prioritized list, with the highest-impact fixes first
  • A realistic sense of which items you or your current provider can handle, and which need development work
  • Straight answers to your questions about cost and timeline

There is no obligation attached. If the audit shows your site is in good shape, we will tell you that. If it shows problems worth fixing, you will have a clear plan whether you fix them yourself, hand it to your current provider, or ask us to help.

Who It Is For

The audit is most useful for established Triangle service businesses that have a website but are not getting the calls or the local visibility they expect. If you are starting from scratch, the conversation shifts toward what a new site should include, and the same principles apply.
